Back in the 80s 90s, I think it cost something like 15 bucks a night if it was that much.the place back then was just the single main cottage with a couple of rooms filled with bunk beds. I am a Native Californian and have stayed at PRH a total of three times in my life.once in the 80s, once in the 90s, and again in 2014. The nearest market is 7 miles away, so it's best to come prepared.… I struggled to sleep well and would consider opting for a private room with a full-size bed next Tip: If you're planning to stay for 2-3 nights, bring along both cooked and uncooked food, as well as enough drinks to cover three meals a day. ![]() The only downside was the dorm bed's comfort. The environment is tranquil, just what I wanted. The real highlight is the hostess - incredibly patient and helpful, always willing to accommodate guest requests like bed changes. While there's no direct ocean view, the beach is just 2-3 miles away. The hostel is located at the coastal trailhead with numerous short trails. Wi-Fi is limited to the main lodge, but that was fine for me. Plenty of parking is available, though there are no public restrooms for visitors. The dorm has its own living room with a fantastic mountain view. The services are basic, which is typical for hostels.
